About

A focused hernia surgeon. By choice.

Dr. Ankit Mishra is the Co-Surgical Lead at The Hernia Institute. A young and dynamic surgeon, he firmly believes in keeping the patient's interest first and in transparent communication — qualities that have earned him a reputation among patients well beyond his years of practice.

With over a decade of surgical experience and four-plus years of focused sub-specialty work in advanced hernia and minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Mishra brings depth and conviction to the institute's complex case load. His expertise in abdominal wall reconstruction — modern hernia surgery — has earned recognition at national and international level, and he has conducted multiple workshops in the field of modern hernia surgery.

Dr. Mishra completed his MBBS, MS in General Surgery, and earned the prestigious MRCS and FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He also holds the FAHS — Fellowship in Advanced Hernia Surgery — a focused super-specialty fellowship that reflects his commitment to the latest techniques and innovations in minimally invasive and complex reconstructive procedures.

Alongside hernia and AWR, Dr. Mishra also specialises in laparo-endoscopic abdominal operations, therapeutic and diagnostic gastrointestinal endoscopy, and minimally invasive proctology.
